Little Worlds
This project combined real environments with small 3D people to create little worlds filled with detail and charm. The video premiered at a live event to announce brands and contest winners.
We handled set design and photography in our studio, carefully arranging details and props. Afterward, we enhanced the photos in post-production and started modeling the 3D characters. Using a custom rig, we posed them accurately before adding shading and textures.
To ensure seamless integration, we matched the 3D models to the real photos, using the same 50mm focus value from the shoot.

Crafting Unique Scenarios for 3D Integration
We created six different scenarios, using as many real props as possible. To find the best setup for the 3D characters, we tested multiple combinations.
Each winner received a distinct flat-color background, helping to keep the focus on the main elements. This approach ensured a clean composition, avoiding distractions and enhancing the visual impact of the scene.
Choosing a Stop-Motion Style
We chose a stop-motion animation style for two key reasons.
First, we had limited time, and a more fluid animation would have taken longer than our schedule allowed. Second, the stop-motion look helped maintain visual consistency, making the 3D elements blend better with the real photographs.
Building a Diverse Cast in 3D
We modeled one main character and created a single rig as the foundation for all 3D characters. This streamlined the process, ensuring a uniform structure across all variations.
From this base, we duplicated the character and began adding custom elements. We incorporated different props, clothing, hairstyles, and accessories, giving each character a unique look while maintaining visual consistency.
This approach helped us create multiple characters quickly and efficiently without adding much extra production time. In the end, we got a diverse yet consistent set of characters that fit perfectly into the animation.
